Written when Virginia Woolf was ten years old both works are considered to be her first sustained 'novel'. The story involves a young Cockney couple, who suddenly moves to the country. The couple purchases a farm, but because of ignorance and inexperience with rustic ways a series of amusing difficulties ensue.
